These are our policies. If you donot agree with, dislike or cannot comply with these policies, please donot register for class. Violation of these policies may result in being dropped from the course or not permitted attendance in class regardless of payment. Violation of policies, is not grounds for a refund. Policies are subject to change without notice. As we are committed to education, we are glad to recommend some alternative study options.
All policy administration issues are processed through Funkaar Studios, Inc headquarters in Sacramento, California. All policy related requests should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.

ALL registration are done on-line. Exception apply to international students and on a case-by-case basis. Checks are accepted for Corporate and AIA On-sites.
Your PayPal payment receipt is proof of your registration, please bring this to each class
You must provide full payment prior to attending any Funkaar classes. Partial payment or promise to pay is not acceptable.
Course registrations include in-class instruction and handouts ONLY.
Course registrations do not include out of class services including but not limited to: instructor mentoring, response to emails, private tutoring, online mock exams, document download, duplicate handouts, vignette grading, textbooks, or any other requests for services out-of-class.
ALL requests for special discounts or rebates must be approved prior to payment and registration.
If you somehow attend a class without payment, you will be invoiced for the class.
$25 per month late fee will be accrued for each month of payment delay after class date.
Receiving handouts requires full class payment.
Early departure or partial class attendance requires full class payment..
Registration on-line is required prior to arrival at class. Please DO NOT show up to class without a registration, there may not be a seat or handout for you, you may also be asked to leave.
'Sitting In' or auditing qualifies as class attendance and requires full payment for each attendee.
Students are granted one seat in each registered class. Family members, minors or companions, pets or other individuals not qualifying as exam prep candidates are not permitted in class.
Name change on original
registration is permitted prior to start date of first class of the
registration. Please notify us by email at
email@example.com with the name, address, email address of the actual attendee. The attendee will be required to submit an email agreement to our policies.
Registrations can not be split between several persons. The same person must attend the entire registration duration.
If you have an outstanding balance with us, new or future registration funds will automatically be applied towards this outstanding balance. Remainder will be available to use toward the future registrations.
Tutoring registrations are valid for one year from date of purchase. Partially used or unused tutoring sessions will expire at this time.
A PayPal payment receipt is emailed to the address you provide at time of registration. This is your ONLY proof of payment.
If you didn't receive one, its likely you didn't complete the registration process. It is the your responsibility to carry this to each class. Arriving without a receipt disrupts class, as we have to take class time to resolve your registration.
If you come to class without proof of payment, you may be asked to leave or make a cash payment. Any signs of anger/attitude/improper conduct (such as slamming cash down on the table) will result in dismissal from classes indefinitely.
If you believe you have paid but have no proof of payment, we may ask you to pay in class if we cannot locate your registration. Duplicate registrations are always refunded as we are a fair company.
Funkaar does not accept walk-ins as most of our classes are full, it can disrupt/delay lecture and instructors do not administer registration...they teach! Thank you for complying.
As of December 20, 2012, transfer of registration will only be granted with qualifying Proof of Emergency as listed below. No other transfer requests will be granted.
Transfer request made prior to December 20, 2012 can request for registration funds to be applied towards a future course open for registration. Please notify us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org before December 20, 2012.
Transfer requests are not considered for courses that are not available for registration or are listed as upcoming or tentative.
Once your request is approved, we will send you a Proof of Transfer by email. Please bring this to class with you. A valid Proof of Transfer must contain the class code for which the transfer funds are applied.
Transfer requests are processed once a class reaches 30% capacity. No transfers are permitted into a course prior to this.
To be eligible for a transfer you must notify us 14 days prior to session date but before December 20, 2012.
For multipart sessions, requests must be made 14 days prior to Part 1 but prior to December 20, 2012.
Partial transfer for part of class or multipart sessions is not permitted.
Transferred registrations are not eligible for a refund.

below are examples of items that do not qualify as a valid emergency per our policies: lack of childcare or care for another or pet care missing a bus or train or transportation interruptions such as car failure, flight delay deadlines or work conflicts
All Proof of Emergency items must notate class date, student's full name, name, contact information of authority and signatures of authority.
Proof of emergency must be provided within 7 days after scheduled class.
There is no refund due to a last minute emergency.
Only ONE transfer is permitted per registration. Transfer due to multiple emergencies/reasons or same repeated emergency/reasons is not permitted for the same registration or same student.
Transfers must be attended by the original designated registrant. Transfer funds cannot be transferred to another person.
Transfer funds are not automatically applied to a future course. You must contact us PRIOR to expiration date of your transfer funds to apply the funds to a course that is open for registration on our website.
If you choose to transfer, you have to accommodate our course location and schedule. ("I thought you were going to offer it again next term"...is not a valid excuse for missing a transfer)
If we are not offering a future course in your area, you must attend a course in another location.
It is your responsibility to look up schedule and times on our website for transferred sessions. You will not be automatically informed of schedules.
Obtaining handouts for transferred courses will forfeit your transfer.
All transfers are limited by seat availability. Transfer is not allowed into divisions that are full or have no more seats available.
All transfers expire in one year from original registration date.
Courtesy extension to transfer funds beyond expiration date is not granted regardless of reason.
ALL registration cancellation are subject to a $95 cancellation fee.
A.R.E. Full course or more than 5 divisions is subject to $400 cancellation fee.
ALL registration cancellation requests must be made 14 days prior to session and within 60days of initial registration date as listed on Paypal receipt.
For multipart sessions, requests must be made 14 days prior to Part 1.

Transfer of registration is permitted if you cannot attend class due to a last minute qualifying emergency. Please see transfer policy for details.
There is no refund due to a last minute emergency.
You cannot request a refund for a session on or after the session date.
You cannot request a refund for session date after attendance.
You cannot request a refund for a multipart session after attendance of single parts (ie Part 1 attended or missed does not qualify for refund of Part 2)
You cannot request a refund or transfer due to early departure from class.
You cannot request a refund or transfer after receiving handouts.
Your signature of attendance confirms receipt of handouts.
Tutoring sessions are non-refundable and subject to $95 reschedule fee.
Tutoring sessions require at least 72-hrs for rescheduling. Last minute rescheduling is not permitted.
Tutoring session time will begin and end on scheduled time. Instructor will wait up to 15-min for student to be present or to login on Skype. After 15-min student is considered a no-show for tutoring. Tutoring no-shows are not refundable and can not be rescheduled.
To qualify for a full course discount, registration for remaining sessions must be processed within the first week of course. Incremental registrations for individual sessions throughout the course do not qualify for full course discount.
If you are registered for entire course or more than 5 ARE divisions, you will be charged for each class attended + $400 cancellation fee. The remaining will be refunded.
If you are registered for 1 to 4 ARE divisions, you will be charged for each class attended + $95 cancellation fee. The remaining will be refunded.

Registrants must be qualified A.R.E. candidates. Educators, competitors, licensed architects and other professionals are not permitted in class.
All payments should be received by designated date on the invoice in order to secure reservation for classes taught in your office.
ALL requests for discounts and rebates must be received and approved prior to class scheduling, payment and registration.
Adequate facilities are required for good learning environment. This includes: conference or class room with tables and chairs. If you do not have adequate facilities, we can locate/reserve one close to your office.
Additional students present on day of class must be paid for in full prior to start of class.
Class will be dismissed without a refund with refusal to pay for additional students prior to class.
Last minute cancellations are not permitted and forfeit class payment without rescheduling option.
Onsites are non-refundable. But are transferable to a later date with 2-week notice prior to scheduled class date.
ALL attendees are expected to be familiar with our Policies. No refunds are provided if class is dismissed by the instructor due to Funkaar General Policies violation by an attendee.
Where indicated, a special discount may be offered when we partner with AIA Chapters or other organizations. When offered, the discount only applies to a specific chapter or region where the course will be held. Such discounts are not valid for membership in areas outside of the course location or for national memberships.
Funkaar Studios holds the right to cancel or reschedule any session due to low registration, instructor emergency or act of nature.
Students should provide accurate email and cell phone number at time of registration so you can be reached in the rare event of last minute class delays.
Students should check email and website for course updates before departing to attend each session.
Students can request a full refund/transfer of canceled or rescheduled sessions free of any fees. Canceled classes are automatically refunded back to student credit card. For rescheduled classes, student must email request for a refund 48hrs prior to rescheduled class date to firstname.lastname@example.org . No other refunds will be processed. You cannot request a refund for classes already attended.
Funkaar Studios is not responsible for personnel expenses (such as exam rescheduling) and scheduling conflicts or other personal issues caused by class cancellations. We can simply refund the canceled class amount paid for that class day.
If you make a personal choice to travel long distances to attend our courses, please note that Funkaar Studios is not responsible for any costs of travel, hotel, etc for attending the course. We can simply refund the canceled class amount paid for that class day.
By registering online, students agree not to hold Funkaar Studios liable for personal expenses and schedules in relation to class cancellation.
For multi-part sessions where a single part is canceled, you will be refunded pro-rated tuition based on number of class hours canceled (ie Part 1 attended and Part 2 canceled means we would refund Part 2 ONLY not the previously attended part)
Vignettes are graded within 120hrs (5-calender days) of submission. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Students can send once email with list of five maximum clarification questions after grading. No educational clarifications will be provided out of class and prior to or with initial grading.
When purchased separately, Vignette Grading expires ONE year from registration date.
When purchased with A.R.E. 4.0 Ready Full Course with Vignette Grading, Vignette Grading expires 30-days after course completion.
When purchased with A.R.E. 4.0 Ready Fast Full Course with Vignette
Grading, Vignette Grading expires 90-days after course completion.
Please email us your vignette at email@example.com with 'VIGNETTE REVIEW' in the subject line when submitting vignettes
Once a vignette is graded without a registration, the student will be billed for an outstanding balance until registration is complete. Please refer to general registration policy for outstanding balance protocol.
Vignettes will not be reviewed without a registration
You can attach the file as a PDF only. Image files are not acceptable. Files that are too blury or low image quality may be rejected for grading. Ensure PDF files are saved as at least print quality.
You can save your vignette by taking a screen shot on PC or using GRAB on Mac. Please email us for specific directions
Vignette files must be submitted with proper file names with vignette abbreviation_LastnameFirstInitial.pdf (ie BDCS_SmithJ.pdf)
Vignettes not meeting submission policies will be requested to be corrected and resubmitted. Failure to comply to corrections will result in rejection of grading until corrections are made.
Vignettes must be in landscape page orientation. Vignettes must be submitted to proportional 1:1 ratio. Vignettes not meeting these policies may be rejected for grading.
All graded vignettes are copyright of Funkaar Studios
Students may not post or distribute graded vignettes on public forums or other medium.
Vignette Grading is not included with individual class registration but maybe bundled with Full Course registrations. Please refer to the class registration page for details.
Each exam purchase permits (2) tries to take the exam with your TOKEN. Ensure you have a stable internet connection before starting an exam. You will NOT be granted more tries because of a lost internet connection.
Make sure you allot time to complete an exam. You must complete an exam before viewing the answer key or grade. Each answer has a description. You cannot return to the exam after grading.
After registration you will receive a LOGIN + TOKEN by email after purchase. This will be your login access.
Token will expire (2) weeks after first trial. Second trial will be forfeit after this period.
All Tokens expire 1-yr after date of purchase if not used.
Mock exams are not awarded as a courtesy but may be awarded for student evaluation completion as directed on our website. Evaluations are approvals are based on sole review and
discretion of the registrar.
Mock exams are not part of
any course registration.
Handouts are only provided at time of class for each class day only. For ARE only handout for the division being covered on that class day is provided. Other division handouts are not provided regardless of registration.
Every registered student will receive only one copy of daily handout at time of each class.
Students must sign-in to class with the instructor or TA in order to receive a handout for the class.
Your signature of attendance confirms receipt of handouts.
Funkaar Studios can never email or mail handouts for missed class days regardless of registration.
Funkaar Studios does not provide any handouts for phone or Skype Private Tutoring.
Funkaar does not provide handouts on other class days for previously missed classes regardless of registration.
Missing a registered class forfeits student right to a handout for that class.
Handouts are not provided prior to class day for any division.
Funkaar Studios does not provide handouts at one time for the entire course or multiple classes regardless of registration. Handouts are provided on each class day. Bulk handouts for the entire
course or multiple classes are not provided at one time.
You must register and pay for full class in order to receive handout for that class only.
Handouts cannot be purchased.
Partial class payment for handouts only is not an option.
Funkaar does not give complimentary handouts for canceled or unregistered classes.
Handouts are provided as a supplement to the lecture. Students are expected to take personal notes during lecture to reinforce the information delivered by the instructor.
Students are not provided transcript or summary of lecture notes after class.
Copies of instructor personal notes will not be provided to the students.
Download Documents are available for student download with certain class registrations. Students have access to these documents for 30 days after class.
Funkaar Studios is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items in relation to class attendance or registration.
It is the attendees responsibility to secure personal laptops, bags, handouts, etc.
Funkaar Studios is not responsible for securing or safe guarding items left in class.
Funkaar Studios in not responsible for personal injury while attending or in relation to our classes. Students should carry proper health insurance.
Power for personal laptops provided through US standard wall outlets in each classroom. Please ensure your computer is designed to handle standard US voltage.
Laptops are used as teaching aids in some classes. Funkaar Studios is not responsible for personal laptop loss of power or operation. The Instructor will continue lecture if power to laptops in not available due to unforeseen conditions. You are expected to take notes if you cannot power your laptop. Attendees are not granted refund or free repeat classes due to loss of power.
By registering online, students agree not to hold Funkaar Studios liable for personal property, injury, expenses and schedules in relation to class attendance or registration.
Customer shall indemnify and defend Funkaar Studios, its instructors, agents and affiliates from any third party claim or liability arising from class registration.
Funkaar Studios holds no responsibility for exam availability or exam fees or exam change fees as administered by a third party (NCARB, Prometric, USGBC, GBCI). We simply recommend a testing schedule. It is the student's responsibility to confirm exam availability and errors in schedule prior to exam registration.
If you have filed a claim for a class already attended or have a past due balance with us, new or future registration funds will be applied towards this outstanding balance. Remainder registrations will be refunded and you will be barred from future attendance if the claim is not removed by you within 10 days of claim filing.
Return of funds due to credit card claims will incur claim processing fees and late fees due to non-payment.
All claims, demands, disputes, legal notices, warnings, binding or non-binding resolutions and all legal actions are required to be filed by certified mail with Funkaar Studios headquarters at 9741 Country Falls Lane, Sacramento, Ca. All binding and non-binding resolution including court proceedings, Litigation or Arbitration related filing must occur in Sacramento County, CA
Student signature serves as legal proof of attendance and agreement to our policies. Students will be charged with litigation costs incurred on Funkaar Studios, instructors and agents due to claims.
All online registrations are required to accept our policies prior to proceeding with checkout and registration processing. There is a checkbox that the registrant will need to be check prior to registration completion.
Funkaar Studios reserves the right to only respond once to duplicate or repeated identical requests. Exhaustive or duplicate emails will not be addressed.
Funkaar Studios does not provide education outside of class. Any responses to questions on class content outside of class is considered complimentary and not required by us.
Although all attempts are made to present accurate content in class, from time to time errors in instruction may occur by individual instructors as part of class registration.
By registration online, students agree to not hold Funkaar Studios, instructors, consultants, teaching assistants, representatives or agents liable for third party claims.
Policies and other agreements related to class registration are between the attendee and Funkaar Studios only.
Funkaar Studios' instructors, consultants, teaching assistants, representatives or agents are indemnified against claims filed against the company.
Funkaar Studios offers exam preparation through our courses, tutoring, online mock exams and vignette grading. We do not guarantee a passing result on exams with our services alone. Additional study time must be dedicated by the attendees to assist in personal preparation for exams.
Funkaar Studios reserves the right to refuse service or products.
We expect professional behavior both in and out of class from our students towards other students and instructors.
Funkaar Studios and our instructors reserve the right to dismiss or cancel current/future registration for those exhibiting disruptive behavior on phone, email, in class or any other communication medium.
Violation of this policy also prohibits access to Funkaar out of class services including but not limited to: instructor mentoring, response to emails, private tutoring, online mock exams, document download, duplicate handouts, vignette grading, textbooks, or any other requests for services out-of-class.
Disruptive behavior during class consists of but is not limited to yelling, swearing, slamming the table, anger, argumentative behavior, continuous lecture interruptions, continuous debates, private conversations, cell phone use, rudeness, threats or anything else the instructor deems disruptive to the learning environment.
Dismissed students do not qualify for a refund for that class day as you held a seat, received benefits of handouts and partial lecture. But we will gladly refund and prohibit your future registration.
It is your responsibility to carry a Paypal receipt as proof of registration. Any display of anger if I fail to provide a Paypal receipt will result in dismissal from class indefinitely.
You must leave class peacefully if ordered by the instructor. Security is always available to remove any disruptive student out of class.
As we hold education in high regard, we have little patience for disrespectful attitude. Come to class happy and eager to learn!
As part of classroom peace, we ask peaceful students not to interfere if a disciplinary action is being taken towards an unruly student. Let us handle it!
We strictly prohibit reference to Funkaar Studios on public forums irregardless of if its positive or negative.
Textbook recitation is not part of our classes. Textbooks are used for home study. The instructor should not be expected to recite the textbook during class.
Copies of instructor personal notes will not be provided to the students. Continuous requests or debates for instructor notes will result in being barred from future classes.
Students are only allowed access to campus facilities during class hours. These include: classroom, toilets, vending machines or cafeteria. Students may not used classrooms after or before hours for study groups or for personal use. Students are not allowed to use Funkaar rental office copiers or computers.
We take threats of defamation of character, slander, posting of copyright material, negative reference on pubic forums, etc seriously. You will be immediately barred from classes if you make threats.
