Funkaar Studios Courses:

A.R.E. READY Course

The Funkaar Studios Architect Registration Exam (A.R.E.) Ready Course is typically a 3-month course. The course offers a step-by-step approach for exam preparation. Sessions are sequenced in a progressive manner to guide students in the testing process. This course is ideal for students seeking steady guidance in passing the exams. Lectures cover key exam content, approach, and answering strategies. Lectures are note intensive, where students actively take notes similar to a traditional classroom environment. With this method, students can walk away with quantifiable education within a set of lecture notes based around a series of line items covering key A.R.E. content. This note taking process promotes student classroom participation and aides in memorization of content for exam preparation. Each division contains a graphic vignette workshop where students actively draw on the computer, while following steps specific to each vignette. Students are provided a Study Methodology with Syllabus, exam breakdown, daily study routine, in-class mock exam questions and a recommended time line to take the exams concurrently with the course. Our recommended time-line for testing encourages concurrently taking the A.R.E. throughout course duration. A daily study routine for each division is provided in class for 6 hours of home study each day after class. Students should plan to take an exam division after attending class for the next division. This approach is recommended to accommodate significant content overlap between adjacent divisions in the course schedule.

Students are provided a Study Methodology with Syllabus, exam breakdown, daily study routine, mock exam questions and a recommended 3-month time line for testing after class.

A.R.E READY Selected Sessions

Individual A.R.E. division lectures are offered in co-sponsorship with local AIA-Chapters, AIA-National Convention and Corporate On-Sites. Single divisions are covered as full-day classes. The divisions offered are mutually agreed upon by the AIA or firm co-sponsoring the session. Classes are typically held in a private office or AIA designated location. We welcome partnerships with local AIA, NOMA, AIAS, architecture programs, as well as other organizations.
