Vignette Grading

Ready Course instructors are now be available for out-of-class vignette grading. This is NOT part of course registration but is an additional service we offer out-of-class grading of the individual student solutions after class.

Understanding How Graphical Vignettes are graded:

  • SUGGESTIONS: indicates alternatives for a better or easier solution to passing the vignette.
  • CONFIRM: unclear items may be tagged for student confirmation
  • DOWNGRADE: Indicates areas where you will be downgraded on the vignette. Typically you can collect 2-3 downgrades per vignette without failing.
  • FAILING ERROR: Indicates areas that will likely lead to vignette failure.
  • PASS / FAIL: Each vignette will be graded as pass or fail.

Additional Information About Vignette Grading

Submitting your Graphical Vignette DOWNLOAD PDF DIRECTIONS

  • Registration includes grading of ONE practice example per vignette.
  • Multiple versions for the same vignette will not be graded unless purchased separately. (for example submit either 3.1 or 4.0 version, not both)
  • Vignettes are graded within 72hrs of submission. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Vignette review expires ONE year from registration date.
  • Please email us your vignette at funkaarstudios@gmail.com with 'VIGNETTE REVIEW' in the subject line when submitting vignettes. (submitting to other email addresses is not acceptable)
  • Do not email grading files to the instructor directly
  • Vignettes will not be reviewed without a registration
  • You can attach the file as a PDF documents only. Images or other files are not accepted and will not be graded.
  • You can save your vignette by taking a screen shot on PC or using GRAB on Mac. Please download directions above.
  • Instructor will return the grade file as a PDF with markup and instruction on corrections. Instructor will indicate graded items as 'SUGGESTIONS', 'CONFIRM'' DOWNGRADE', 'FAILING ERRORS', PASS or FAIL
  • Grading is done as an email exchange. It does not include private tutoring time with the instructor. Please see PRIVATE TUTORING to schedule one-on-one Skype tutoring with an instructor.
  • All graded vignettes are copyright by Funkaar Studios. Students are not permitted to distribute or post graded vignettes on public forum or other medium.
  • If you are registered for one of the classes covering graphic vignettes, we will instruct you step by step on how to draw each vignette in a workshop style working on a computer.
  • Vignette Gradng, however, is NOT part of course registration
  • You will need a PC or Laptop with NCARB software downloaded and functional for Graphic Vignettes. Please note that BOTH 3.1 and 4.0 versions of NCARB software may be used for practice for the exam divisions. Make sure you have a mouse and a power supply.
  • Please click on the software icons above to download the NCARB software on your computer. If you experience glitches, try adjusting your screen display setting or erase the file, redownload and reinstall program to ensure the file was not corrupted during download. Funkaar Studios does not provide technical support on NCARB software. Please call NCARB directly if you continue to experience problems installing the software on your computer.
